Switching roles

I am an emergency room nurse, caring for patients in a busy, ever-changing environment. It means being adaptable, working as part of a strong team, and helping people when they need help the most.

Where do I even start? My love of driving really began in Moab with rock crawling. A defining moment was when I was 17, climbing into Grandpa George Breakall’s truggy at Potato Salad Hill. He told me to drop it into low-low third, pointed out the line, and let me drive up in front of a huge crowd. I was hooked instantly. I went home, bought an old truck, took a welding class, and became a YouTube mechanic, and started on my own crawler.

I am incredibly fortunate to be healthy, happy, and living a life I love surrounded by incredible people. I thrive on change and new experiences, and my soul loves the desert rocks, sand and the ocean, where my inner mermaid feels most at home.

I almost lost my right leg and became a pirate while working on a boat in Maui. A big part of my right leg is still numb and I can’t feel it.

My main objectives are to have fun, learn the format of this new rally and execute it smoothly with my teammate. I compete because I genuinely enjoy problem-solving, teamwork, and the challenge of doing something new.

Switching roles

Owner, Coach @ Blue Crab CrossFit - having the opportunity to own my own business and make it my own place where people go to multiple days a week to become the best version of themselves is such an honor. It’s a positive, supportive environment and being the owner that creates that environment is so rewarding and has introduced me to so many incredible people. When I’m not at the gym, I try to be out west teaching and/or guiding for Barlow Adventures. I have so many incredible memories from all the classes and events I’ve worked - it’s been so fun to see people challenge themselves to learn new skills and try something new or to work with the manufacturers/shows to see the amazing products they create using our guidance and inputs.

Any time driving across the country is a fun memory. Since my first Rebelle in 2020, for all but one I’ve driven across the country. It’s fun to catch up on the phone with friends and family, listen to music/podcasts/audiobooks, and visit friends and family along the way.

Mandy is an Army veteran living in Maryland, who wishes she lived out west (next year hopefully!), who is always down for a challenge and an adventure. If it’s spontaneous - even better as some of the greatest memories came from saying yes to crazy ideas and trips!

I brew beer! After college, my roommate and I had monthly beer brewing days. We haven’t brewed in a while, but I still have the equipment in our shed and hope to someday pull it out again. It was fun creating our own versions of our favorite beer and inviting friends and neighbors over to hang out as it’s usually a day project! My favorites to brew are the holiday brews (Christmas/Fall) and IPAs!

Have fun, challenge myself, learn new things, make new memories, and be a good teammate! I'm excited for this new challenge to learn some new skills and become better roadbooks, plus see some amazing scenery with friends!

I joined the Army at the age of 17 and then deployed to Afghanistan for a year when I was 18. It’s crazy looking back on how young I was for that experience, but it truly had a huge impact on me and the direction of my life after the deployment. Experiencing the Afghan culture and hospitality from people who had so little meant a lot, and it is generosity I try to pass on whenever possible.
