Leslie Peters

I'm a mildly autistic math nerd. I'm a master implementer—I'm not a "big ideas" person, but I can take a big idea and make it happen.

Navigator

Kara Yde

I am a stereotypical Type A engineer who obsesses over organization and details. I love being outdoors and exploring the world around me.

Occupation
I'm an editor and graphic designer, and spend most of my time helping grad students get across the finish line with their dissertations. I like that I can make their work shine as the best possible version of itself.
Car Memory
Other than the splurge on the Tesla, we drive old and/or cheap cars. It's been fun to start doing repair work—the stakes are low on a 14-year-old car! I'll always remember traipsing around the junkyard with my college-age kids and then all of us re-building the front bumper supports of our PT Cruiser on a 90° July day.

Fun Fact
Loooove puzzles -- crosswords, cryptograms, ken ken, sudoku, jigsaw (min. 1,000 pieces!).
Dream Car
A convertible. I had one for a while (*another* PT Cruiser), and just loved driving around with the top down any time it was over like 55 degrees.
Objectives
I'd like to run the best rally that Kara & I can do, and have fun in the beautiful landscape that's my (geographic) back yard!
Greatest Adventure
Visiting the Galapagos.

Occupation
I am a senior program manager for responsible for Toyota full size trucks. I am part of the team that decides change content for future models then works as a conductor to ensure that those changes are executed on time and in budget. My favorite part is to see first vehicle roll off the assembly line and recognizing all of the team members that helped realize the original vision.
Car Memory
I grew up in Wisconsin. When I was fairly young (probably under 5), my dad pulled into our remote neighborhood in winter and asked if I wanted to do a donut. When I asked what a donut was, he said it's where you spin around in the car. A little unsure, I replied yes. We spun around one and half times before getting stuck in the snow bank in front the house next door. I got out and walked home. My dad and the neighbor dug out the car. It was one of the earliest, exhilarating things I experienced in a car. In more recent years, I have had the amazing opportunity to complete several Toyota driver training on and off road courses by some amazing instructors.

I am a stereotypical Type A engineer who obsesses over organization and details. I love being outdoors and exploring the world around me.
Fun Fact
I completed in two half ironman triathlons.
Dream Car
I can't decide. Right now we have two great vehicles: a 2025 Toyota Supra 3.0 manual and a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser. I'm lucky enough to have vehicles that scratch on and off road itches.
Objectives
I want to try our best and enjoy the ride in some amazing places I've never experienced!
Greatest Adventure
Traveling and experiencing the world has influenced who I am today. The remote American West in the Rebelle, Japan (without knowing Japanese) before smartphones, and many European adventures have all left an impression. I look forward to future adventures!
