The Team

Rachel Abril & Aidan Bowman

We have been working together on sister teams at Lucid for almost three years now. We've done countless development trips together in prototype vehicles, from fallen sandwiches at Autobahn rest stops to surviving -30F power outages during winter testing.

I love a good joke or soft prank. And if you know me for even a short time, you’ll probably be witness to pictures of my chonky cat.

Aidan Bowman

If I'm not working, I'm baking. I am generally identified by my hair, which is the color of pink cotton candy.

Occupation
I’m a technical specialist on Lucid’s vehicle dynamics team, performing in-vehicle development of ride and handling attributes.
Car Memory
Too many to count. In college, I drove a solar-powered car across the Australian Outback. At Lucid, there have been many, many giggles in development cars, from power slides on test tracks to road trip shenanigans with colleagues.
Self Described As
I love a good joke or soft prank. And if you know me for even a short time, you’ll probably be witness to pictures of my chonky cat.
Fun Fact
I am happy to eat spaghetti for several meals in a row and not feel guilty.
Dream Car
As a kid, it was a 1969 C3 Corvette. At age sixteen, it became a C6 Corvette (yellow). Having since acquired the latter (tragically in red, alas), I recently purchased a Lucid Air Pure and absolutely love it. I haven’t driven the Corvette in months. This is not a paid ad.
Objectives
I’m here to represent Lucid, and as a bonus I get to spend time cruising in the amazing vehicles we make, and share that with others.
Greatest Adventure
I did the 5 day Whanganui River canoe journey in New Zealand with my partner, only tipping the canoe 1.5 times throughout.

Occupation
I am a senior engineer on Lucid's Vehicle Controls and Calibration team, where I focus on powertrain calibration work for performance and drivability attributes.
Car Memory
In college, I spent most of my time building a racecar in the center of Manhattan. We got to test everywhere from beach parking lots to active airport runways. At Lucid, I've continued to have numerous memorable moments.
Self Described As
If I'm not working, I'm baking. I am generally identified by my hair, which is the color of pink cotton candy.
Fun Fact
I was a paddleboarding instructor for two years in high school.
Dream Car
I am lucky enough to have my dream car! When my grandmother was my age, she was a driver/navigator for some road rally racing in Long Island. She drove a Triumph TR2. I was able to find a 1971 Triumph Spitfire I've dubbed Ophelia. It that allows me to have a ton of fun, both driving and working on various upfits, and reminds me of her every day.
Objectives
We have spent so much time working towards making Lucid vehicles a wonderful driving experience; I'm excited to get to share that with more people and experience it myself without a computer in hand.
Greatest Adventure
I spent most of my senior year in college building a motor by hand, from scratch. We installed it into an e-bike we designed, and got to see it go for a spin around the streets of NYC.
The Rig

2026 Lucid Gravity GT

We're driving a Lucid Gravity Grand Touring with the Dynamic Handling Pack (rear steer and triple chamber air springs) on Rachel's favorite tires, the Pirelli Pzero Summers.
